Its been quite a while since a post was last made . ( a long while ). I'd like to firstly, thank everyone who kept checking back to see if any updates were being made. In the space of time where i stopped making updates and started planning the next show, I had time to explore other projects. For those of you who may need a re-cap, I mentioned I was working on a partnered retail project.
Because of this Goldmine Fashion Shows has been put onto hold. In recent event, all is looking well for the new goldmine branch into retail. I am currently in stages of opening a shop in Brooklyn for the Ladies; House of Belle. All going the way it is now, we will open this summer. But no fear, in sight of the progress of our shows, Goldmine Fashion show will make a new name for itself alongside the grand opening of House of Belle. I'll keep you posted via this blog on what is going on with the new project . keep the support alive.

This show is a little personal for me. (aiming for my birthday), incorporating all the things I love. (shouldnt be that difficult to recognize) but today marks yet another day of where the planning begins! and no after party this time.. lets try and all day Pre-Event Celebration :). Open to everyone! ( there was a serious, 21+ over problem last time @ Fish Eye Lounge) BUT...

We will try to keep our mouths shut about our special gifts and loony presentation.

What to say ? We havent posted in 2 months .. (just about) excuse the disappearance but its been an interesting not to mention busy time outside of goldmine. For those who havent heard, were boarding new ships to discover new seas but dont worry you werent forgotten ! goldmine is actually expanding; meaning we have been doing a major collabo project with a retail store out in brooklyn, im not at liberty to mention who but very soon we will have a service offered year around alongside our signature event. BUT ANYWAY, Pictures from the last event. Everyone has been asking. Unfortunately, in these past 2 month I havent recieved a single photograph .
Im just as anxious as you are. I apologize :(. I did however manage to salvage candid photographs from a friend and dont mind sharing those with you.

Again, We were rained out lastweek, washed out of the green and have been relocated. Did you see all that rain yesterday? it really came down, but everything happens for a reason. We're Post Poned to next friday; This gives us a little more time to add on. Shout out to all my models who stuck around to help out . you guys are great and of course my labels & performers who were soo patient & understanding ! And Last but not least the Orville down at The Green He did so much in helping yesterday, with finding us a FREE relocation =)

For the time its takes to plan a proper show , a couple of months is really alot for a show thats only about an hour long but it seems as though we all are very excited for that 60 min =)

Dropped over to Yours Truly to see the ladies ( Jen & Ill p (i keep running into the coolest people on the planet it seems)) to get 3 of the models fitted and from our chit chat, all of us we're pretty amped about friday . After Party Details are changed, Theophilus London might be bringin along Ninja Sonik &&& did i mention were giving away lots of stuff ! also if you want to register for votes and read a pretty program then you'll be in the right place friday but anyway toodles .

The Countdown

Its September 5th, 2008. Approximately 7 days away from the September 12th showcase next friday . Im pretty excited. Though i've made many changes, i have complete faith in next friday . But Goldmine will take a pause until next summer for the founders ( ebony alexander) new project (to be revealed this winter/spring).. but what did goldmine do today ? (besides indulge in a mojito and a bit of cheese cake (eh hemm)) . Unfortuantely no cameras we're present BUT One of Our new Models Trimaine, Squeakzz from Lethal Inspiration & Myself did a little daytime run. ( Lethal Inspiration's samples are banging btw, saw them today ;]) First stop was Brooklyn Circus to drop off a few tickets. My favorite place to be; not only to soak up the ambience but to basker in a little chit chat with those stylish men we love so much. shout out to them they'll be there next friday . NEXT stop new store on Dean St & Flatbush ave DBA . anyone notice how all these wonderful boutiques are opening in brooklyn ? =] but co-owner devon is really cool and hooked us up with some stickers, space bots & tees . and last but not least vinnies style . honestly, the merchandising doesnt tickle me but I dont know, i really like it in there . some might say theyve outgrown theyre highschool shopping days at vinnie's but listen who really had a shop catering street labels like 10 deep, kidrobot & hellz bellz out in brooklyn?? Yeah didnt think you could answer that . So go Jacob & the rest of the staff @ Vinnie's Style. =) Fittings are tommorow and im verrryyyyy tired so, please hold a few for a new post . thats if i make it alive !

Its almost time for our fall 08' show. the most crucial time ever !
I dont think we've slept much in days . the girls are finding it hard to keep up with me.
please look forward to something beautiful because you are, we do really try make a different experience for our guests . it takes work and preparation . moving off of that, just wanted to take time to release last minute information that we thought you might like to know :
1. If you didnt already see the flyer ( you can refer below) 2. We're going to be outdoors . yes outdoors, do we have a raindate? the next day (unofficially)
3. We're bringing back our 4 favorite models
( Cayla, Andre, Michael and Amanda) we love working with them.

5.TIME this time is important; try not to show up late ! we're at a nick for time and if you pay for a show that you catch the end of or you have to stand you most definitely wont be getting a refund sorry !

The Goldmine Cameo

Ever wondered what it would be like to cameo in those music videos you see on tv? i'm pretty sure we've all imagined the excitement of a video camera rolling while we bopped around doing absolutely nothing , just looking good for the camera. Well luckily for the goldmine girls minus one ( sowwy beez) we made our own cameo in Theophilus London's new music video "Higher" @ 5pointz . (who by the way will be performing in our september show )

And how could I not rep princess of the posse for this? ill post the video when it drops and this will be the last time you ever.. and i say ever see me diddy bop in front of a camera . through the "elevator party" to the straight mayhem we caused ( you'll see what im talking about soon) I think i can say the same for bridge .

but, thanks theo for allowing us to be apart of the shoot today we realy enjoyed ourselves =)

These are very hectic times. Goldmine Fall Show is Apprx. 3 -4 weeks away. Work is still being done but between model casting and programming theres always some kind of excitement included. I am proud to say I've joined Princess of the Posse as a marketing intern . I'm very excited and just wanted to take time out to show my appreciation to Kelly for thinking of me ;]

Did anyone take notice how fastttt Summer's coming to an end?
We don't want summer to die, we love being outdoors and to hold on to that love just a little longer
here's the newest detail on the new show this fall; we're definitely not going to be indoors this time.
There's alot of things that came into spirit when making this in or out decision.. that of course our show is on the last day of new york fashion week and how important " going green" is becoming.
No faces please ! September is still fairly warm, i mean who wouldn't mind an autumn breeze ?
The outdoor elements certainly also create lots of room for you guys to move around.
I personally think its quite fun and different, i told you not to expect things you didn't last march.

On The Rise : Lethal Inspiration

Who can forget this infamous "A tribe called fly" cardigan?
Many of you probably don't know the beginnings of this brand or even the story behind. I will leve that story to the creative directors but I can not describe how proud I am of those down @ Lethal inspiration. Only in they're 2nd season now, you'll see they're items sported by the hottest. for example above rapper Theophilus London. Beat That guys!!!
It was just yesterday ( well not literally) but the time in between the development of Lethal Inspiration's Line and where it is now is beyond most of us. With a 2nd feature in our fall showcase, they still demonstrate they're creative ability to bring us the heat from the street.
Lucky us, we were around during the birth and growth of this brand. & they will continue growing.

but something told me this time do my research before I judge. I researched " Princess Of The Posse" this weekend after my little shopping trip; and i have to say though there really isn't variety but she makes up for that in styles and very unique presentation. Female street wear worth wearing is very hard to come across but some labels set the stage.

The Dress Code for this cocktail party is UPSCALE CASUAL and many of you are confused with what that is? ladies please do not show up in a ballroom dress and tiara and fellas please dont show up in your proms tuxedo no no no!
So for those ladies who are need up of ideas or those who are experiencing "style block"You're ensemble doesnt even have to be that pricey for you to look good.
I'll give you an example of the look I might be going for =]. shall we?
If there's someone who in my eyes is edgy yet subtle and has me wanting to emulate her style in many ways; Its ex-girlfriend of Kanye West and fashion designer Alexis Phifer. This photography from getty images and a little dash of my like for Erin Fethereston's signature tiers helped me out of my "style block". I decided to do a smoething little like this :(now you must be warned, i'll be very upset if i see copies)

On The Rise: TYGA

I've grown to have this very unique interest in 18 year old Los Angeles rapper TYGA (cousin to Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes) and before I begin, I want everyone at L&F, Beauty & the Street, 4rtnox, Fetty mag EVERYONE to know that what I am about to write isnt (totally biased opinion). This past march goldmine tried to book TYGA for our event but we're unable to and are making efforts to try again for the fall (and if "we" in reference to the effort means me then YES I am trying). Despite most reviews I honestly think his new song " Coconut Juice" is catchy and not only did he get a substansial amount of plays on myspace; he's already performed for and has his music video (with cameos of lil wayne, his cousin travis and pete wentz -fallout boy) on MTV. Don't think thats enough? His music is available via imeem, itunes and through his free downloadable mixtape you can find on his myspace page. myspace.com/tyga. If Tyga wants to continue to progress I hope he makes more product like this coconut juice single, if not then I'm not sure what else migt work.

From Luxemburg this graffiti artist isn't quite the talk in NYC YET but she will be. Her Exhibition of New York "wants an needs" opened a couple days ago in Luxemburg. Unfortunately for me and others here in the states if your not in Europe you cant see it! If someday she decides to do one of her exhibitions here in the city, i'd definetly be online. A recent phone conversation and search for company sponsorships for goldmine turned into the finding of something interesting. If you ever watched WWF growing up in the 90's you remember one of the things "The Rock" was famous for saying. " Slow Your Role and Shut Your Damn Mouth". Well of course for this new product you'll have to open your mouth but it does give you the 100% guarantee that it'll slow your role. Not popular in NYC, a friend of mine from Houston put me on to this new ANTI-Energy drink called DRANK. I know, I know, I said the same thing. Why in the hell would I or anyone else want to slow down? Aren't these current booming businesses such as RedBull, SOBE etc reaping from BOOSTING our energy? Well the people of Houston are taking quite an interest in this purple can of DRANK. I dont think T-pain was subliminally sending the message " Imma buy you a drank" it was just his accent BUT ever heard of "Purp", "Sizzurp", or "Purple Stuff" or about Lil Wayne's strange and the increasingly popular addiction to cough syrup? Well, with herbal ingredients melatonin, valerian roots and rose hips this drink is made to give the same effect.
(just without the hazards included). Unfortunately this product is only sold in select stores in houston, but before goldmine looks in to this asking this new company for sponsorship, were going to " slow our role" & do a little more homework on DRANK.

ALL girls hang with other girls and gossip about other girls right?
Wrong. Not this girl. I gossip with my girls about wanting my certain someone to look good. That is what girls like right? call me shallow but my answer is yes. With being around my closest friends for so long who happen to be Guys. (I've mention my lovely 4 in previous posts. Arc, King D, L & Juice)
I'v learned to appreciate men, my taste for male clothing period is spread across the board; because they are extremely selctive with what they wear. (worse than us maybe) especially with the street wear genre. So when I shop for them, some times its hard to find what they want/ like or even how I say NEED. For me shopping in the same places over and over and over and over grows to become quite the bore. hence the reason for this posting.

You all know what a secret shopper is, I don't think I need to explain. (or do I?)
I'm not going to explain what it is just punch it in your search engine. GOOGLE IT!
But thats besides the point; I sent a fellow member of the team on a little secret shopping this recently. I wish photos were taken BUT my mystery shopper didnt have enough common sense to carry one or to more importantly BUY anything.(THANKS!! BIG HELP). Feedback? This store takes to our liking majorly for this reason : " its gives blooming brands an opportunity" (sorta like we do, only thing is there missing some deserving brands that we have showcased in previous shows ::wink::)
But I did ask myself Coney Island? I dont know if its only me but when I think Conely Island a few things come to mind; Dental Offices, Bagel shops and of course the famous Coney Island Amusement Park (which is going to undergo major changes. trust me business will boom in this overall area when it does).
So in search for an answer, and in spirit of everyone's urge to tell others " GOOGLE ME BABY" ( kudos to teyanna taylor) I did what MOST smart people do.

Location was Kinda Gutsy in my opinion BUT if you think strategically its makes lots of sense. I wont go into FULL detail but if youre 1. a brooklynite 2. actually reading the post, then use my reference to the amusement park.( more than a hint)
And before I forget to mention, the store owner is only 22 ! yeah yeah 22. fella's you should really step your game up. Well, for starters Goldmine For Graham 09 is a cocktail benefit party in support of a fellow mentor and office candidate right here in Brooklyn, New York.

and who exactly is Graham?
Graham is just her last name, her full name is Yvonne Graham. She is currently running for position as Brooklyn Borough President.

With this said. .
Goldmine and Official L & F were lucky to be chosen to help spread the awarness of how important it is to vote through this EXTRAVANGAZA were throwing and also to be a part of the creation of a new rule of youth empowerment.

Recently Goldmine & Official L&F sat down with Ms. Graham for updates on our cocktail party, and I must tell you. We've got this one in the bag.

At work today we received a motivational speech. Of course the speech had nothing to do with me personally but there were a few things that left me thinking. Any speech or words of encouragement should not only be applied in the work area, but to life. one of those things were something one of my bosses (John Fisher [hope i spelled it correctly]) always tell us ..
"PLAN PRIOR TO PREVENT .." I don't remember at the moment what the last P was but you get the point.
so from All I know is that today was one of those days where I planted ideas, following on to nurturing allowing it to grow.

The seed was planted today with a person who's significance I mention in a previous post. meet Gleb everyone...

we had a meeting today to dicusss the visionary aspect of our show.. lights stage seating runway etc. the last show's runway wasnt the best but now that gleb is around im confident this fall is going to be a BANGA!.

the ideas for the store are in still in foundation stages, but will soon take flight.
and as far as the fall show is concerened. there are big plans.
A fellow enthusiast about the movement has offered his "decoration and scenery" building services. so instead of a plain stage look for something a little more ehh how you say "intricate", not so plain.

After trial and error, nerve racking occuramces, no obstacle that came in the way downed this show. goldmine fashion show finally hit the stage on friday and boy did we make the voices of street fashion heard.

the event in details is WAY TOO MCUH to type but i really appreciate the love i recieved from not only my designers,performers, Dj and my models but from my audience as well. thank you all so much without you all there is no show!

We did our lasting casting call and ill be honest,

in 100% respect for the truth i was not only disappointed but a bit worried.
Models had shown BUT unfortunately the studio was LOCKED and i had to send them home ONLY to be called back being told they didnt hear the bell. how much suckier does that get.

-sigh- disappointing but hey, live moves on.

Walk A Day in My Shoes

Im at work right now updating...might get in trouble but hey....

Yesterday was totally dedicated to shoes shoes shoes.
and the reason is

1. I wore shoes that created the most painful experience in a day for me in addition to the freezing temperature

2. Beezie and I were on the search for shoes for the show

3. I fell in love with a pair of new shoes

For a couple of days I've been away from school and work, so ive devoted time to the LAST model casting this weekend and finding shoes for these models. Fittings are tuesday the 11th and wednesday the 12th (you'll get to see that soon)
BUT back to the matter at hand.
shoes galore.
After trips to a couple of stores, we seem to make progress.
Long walks in HEELS ARE HELL.
lets just hope these contracts fall through, if not theres always an alternative.

(Oh yes, did I mention our good friend Soho dropped by :)
so Did Taylor and Lethal Inspiration Director Andrew.)

A trip to starbucks and then Aldo made my DAY.

This was my very first time seeing the venue in person due to the back and forth of emails for booking with erick (the booking manager) Thanx Erick.

Mom, Beezie and I did a walk thru so PLEASE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT COMES OF HOW WE UTILIZE THIS SPACE!! because believe me you wouldnt even begin to imagine what a creative mind a raw space translate into you.

I havent been here in ages!
I apologize to all my loyal readers for the long wait for a new posting.
Well now I'm back and like usual im going to cram post. SO ..here's a recap of whats been going on this month . . . .

were almost close to showtime and a lot of work is being done to make this show a memorable one.

very memorable.
too be honest ladies, this is more so for the men than anything else. streetwear to a runway? who did you think was going to benefit the most? Let's be real men are becoming more into they're appearance than anything else (can be bad, can be good)
Lets give them some time to shine please ! -most guys need to be introduced to fashion anyway-
BUT for future productions the females will have time to shine; just not right now.

I mentioned in previous posts about a secret weapon...(I wont tell you why she is.. you'll just have to come to the show and see for yourself. ) noticed is sed she. If you thought this male-oriented production couldn't consist of more females then you pushed your luck because the Dj we've chosen is a female !

In my opinion is WONDERFUL. My opinion is biased partially because of how sweet she was to me at the united tradeshow but all in all shes wonderful. I jumped hell and highwater for her and i hope my guest love her as much as i do.

taylor spent the night after a long, productive meeting last nite.
hit the sack around 3 in the morning and up again at 7.
shower & dress? we got ready to hit mfta with mom.

i felt like taking a picture of myself...morning was pretty nice by the way.

after a long ride, a loonnggg ride we finally got there. we always catch taylor walking away..

you cant really take pictures inside but with helping we picked up some little things for the fashion show.. they have it all! anything from old tv's to fabrics & paper. if your a non-profit organization catering to the arts.. this is a GREAT place to go. a little dusty buh cool. ( i suggest u dont stick your hands in certain boxes without gloves, i suffered the consequence of itchy swollen hands =()
soo we rolled on out with our things.

Model Castin Pt 2!!

So SATURDAY WAS GREAT!! I made two separate posts only because the photographs would be probably a little much. Shouts to Gregg Richards for hooking us up with the rooms!! Set for success the panel was there even though a couple were really late (lol they know who they are). by the way shouts to EVERYONE who helped!!

Many models were pretty surprised and taken aback by our age and especially mine. One of the models didnt know whether she should give me her info card. The Older folks had to keep referring them to me ha. I dont know what they were expecting but I guess after I spoke, they were impressed. =)
we waited and waited and some ppl came through... lets take a look shall we?

in all honesty these are the four guys who really inspired me to do this fashion show..kind of like Muses. If you look at them you might actually know why.

its was a Great day. I had the support of my mom.. shes thinks sheee is soo funny lol see the bunny ears.

the day was over just a sample for what's going on with us.

Goldmine wont be casting anymore amatuer models, next casting for proffesional agency models are next but later on in march.

Trial & Error (Model Casting Closed !!!!)

I have the WORST headache over, probably from how hard i was smilling these past 2 days. Model Casting went as planned and was exciting overall. The first call day Friday was a teeny bit disappointing because of the rain . and not all panel members were present (just Amber, Taylor, Myself, Jamere,Gregg Denisha and Vicki. Though, it thundered and poured we did have quite a turn out.

Its a Family Affair

It always usually takes a couple days before I write a new post. im verry exhausted, please excuse my monotonous style of writing today. Today is monday, New Years Eve and I need to make the last post for the last day of the new year.
Saturday was a group meeting for the group meeting to get this show on the road.
at first i was a little disappointed most hadn't shown on time or at all. A word to the wise. " when your doing business or a re committed to a enture make sure your ALWAYS on time." you dont wanna miss ANYTHING that can be vital to your role.

Anways..
the morning started off with.....i had to take a picture, its was great...

goldmine fashion show looks like its taking flight and im so excited.

yooo seriously this is moving faster that I originally anticipated! I LOVE IT!!
Im getting a HUGE response for models and people to take part in this show. talk about massive emails from dusk till down. Sorry i havent been making any reall posts.
Ive just been sooo busy. Built a team so we can get things on the roll. Im confident my show will be a success. I have a secret weapon !!!! and i wont tell you about it until my next posting !! till then tooddlleey dooo. :)

A New Beginning

Today was FREEZING!
but it was a good day.

My friend Dwayne & I were in the city doing a couple thingss.
so let me go to where this actually BEGINS....Dwayne is a friend of mine who knocked his head with mine to create a online mag/blog. Kinda like a contemporary/urban/underground kinda thing. You know like HYPEBEAST but more personal. okease im not gonna spit the name on here before someone steals it! but alongside the fashion show this is a good look.

so the day started off with a meeting ..veryyy productive meeting...

Under the Weather

Looking at the screen for these couple minutes are giving me a real headache. *sniffle* *cough* everyone is coming down with the flu and I was obviously next in line. WHY ME? Im never sick.
Today is thursday and I'm feeling really under the weather . I kind of went outside to the city in nothing but a t-shirt on underneath a thin jacket (not so smart).
Anyway. even though im sick im still trying my best to work on some progress for this show.
Ill be back with another post for you guys soon enough.

BBC Store Opening

So Yesterday I dropped by the BBC/Ice Cream Flagship store opening in Soho.
Met up with my boys and stood on line. As you can see this wasn't choatic but it sure was hectic.
Shout out to the people who stood on the line w. us or just showed for a see the hoo-ha in the streets.
I came late a little late(11:30) and didn't get a number but my boys Elly & Q did(since 10:30).
The store wasn't open until around 1:30 and the line was only growing. In the meanwhile we stood around in the frigid air..really frigid..Juice, Justin, Marlon,Melvin,Padmore,Jason & Bapetalk.

We heard a bit uproar soon. Pharrel & Nigo arrived because of the excitement I wasnt able to capture images but I sure did get some due to his depart. I got pretty close. Pretty Close. Pharrell is such a pleasant person if you ask me. He also tries his best to acknowledge his adoring fans. (too bad i didnt ask for a picture, i have more shots ill post them ltr) ...

But it doesnt end there..... Q Elly & I stood around in the side away from the crowd..
We see a man walking alone hands in pocket..strolling casually and breezes right through us.
JAY-Z!! How crazy that? NO security NO car nothing,. Just Jay. Thats a once in a lifetime moment. JUICE is frozen and none of us had a chance to take a picture. He moves through the crowd to the dooor; no one really notices until We say "Waddup Jay" haa....crazy. We did capture some shots when he left.

Though, the store wasn't as crazy as expected from what I saw they were kids in a candy shop. Lets take a peek shall we?=)

Gobble? No Work.

it's the day after thanksgiving and after all that food you'd think i'd be lazing around. Nope.
As far as im concerned today's just another work day. Mommy is going to help me package some sponsorship packages to send off today. I've learned that if you have a project, dont have the funds and aren't to keen on taking out loans; there are always sponsorship opportunites.
(My Mom plans a youth fest in Brooklyn ever year in prospect park. check her out @
brooklyncaribbeanyouthfest.org) She's always typing letters and sending packages in the mail but I never knew why she was doing it. It was funding for her project. Money is everywhere! Don't feel discouraged by the hard work or believe "I won't get this money"; that attitude will definitely crush all hopes for making your 'ish a reality. && secondly projects like these aren't guaranteed nor are they about revenue, its about doing what you love, pleasing the people and yourself! To actually feel satisfied and say "Wow this idea was only on paper and now its alive"
But with that said I've already have a venue (yes! but i wont tell you where yet), I've created a budget and once this dough rolls in I can begin hiring staff. As far as designers go, im not putting any names out in the open. It is only novemeber and everything is still in the foundation stages.
Well, I gotta scoot and start getting myself in winner mode. plus my younger sister is badgering me for the internet (what a dweeb)

who am i? and what the hell is goldmine?
(i know i would have asked the same thing) Ok well firstly my name is Neezy 18 years old , student at New York City College of technology & from brooklyn hollllaaaaa!!!!!!!! i fucks wit rap 'ish, alternative, techno, i love the internet, i suck at sports,i like to enjoy myself (even if some people think ima sicko!) Ima sucker for anything edible. yeah yeah im kinda greedy. but moving on, i want to get into the puropse of this blog. As seen, this blog is called Goldmine. Goldmine is a organization i started to line up a series of fashion shows for urban designers. Were not talking shitty fashion shows in a school gym or auditorium either.....Deep, down in the nitty gritty Im hoping this thing get big. Lets face it there are soo many talented urban designers out there but they're showcased at tradeshows where some of us arent able to go OR we wait and check our favorite site almost every season to see what the hell is new! I wanna solve this problem and put together an event to be enjoyed while watching business at its best. Fashion Week one of the finest events tours across the world! Stella Mc Cartney, Narsico Rodriguez, Vera Wang etc show off thier most beautiful collections. High Fashion is cool but *yawns* im ready for something a little new. So watch Neezy Make it Happen!
